Thank you for considering The Salvation Army Vehicle Donation Program as the recipient of your vehicle donation. When you donate your vehicle to The Salvation Army, you are helping us heal broken lives and assist individuals on the road to recovery. Proceeds from the sale of your donated automobile are used to help fund The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation program in your area.
To schedule your donation pick up simply call 214-630-5611 ext. 56014 and speak to our Vehicle Donations Department.
All donations are tax deductible in accordance with IRS rules and regulations!!!
How do I donate my vehicle?
To schedule your donation pick up simply call 214-630-5611 prompt 2 (or extension 56014) and speak to our Vehicle Donations Department. Or, visit us online at: https://dss.satruck.org/DonateVehicle. You will be contacted within 3 business days of submiting your webticket to finialize the details of your donation and set up a pick up date and time.
What do I need to donate my vehicle?
You will need the vehicle's license plate number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to get the process started. The process only takes about 10 minutes!
You will also need a clear title, which means, the vehicle must be titled in the donor's name (for vehicles that the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requires a title for).
What types of vehicles do we accept?
Cars, Trucks, Vans, SUVs, Crossovers, Boats, Trailers, RV's, Campers, Scotters, Motorcycles, Dirt Bikes, etc. Running or Not!
We offer FREE towing, so there is absolutely NO expense to you when you donate your vehicle. We do ask that if you need to cancel or change your towing pick up for any reason that you call the towing company so they don't come out for the pick up (we will get charged for a pick up even if you do not hand over the vehicle).

Vehicle Sales through Public Vehicle Auction
Your local Adult Rehabilitation Center conducts scheduled auctions for vehicles that have been donated by the community. 100% of the proceeds help fund our Adult Rehabilitation Center programs.

Registration: 8:00-9:45 a.m.
Vehicle Viewing: 8:30-9:45 a.m. (Includes the vehicles being run by staff members.)

Auction Process and Other Information
Auction Registration = FREE!!
Non-Refunable Cash Deposit = 10% of winning bid amount or $200, whichever is greater.
Texas Sales Tax = 6.25%
Title Transfer Fee = $33.00
Vehicle Registration Fee = determined by vehicle
Buyer's Fee = 10% of winning bid amount or $100, whichever is greater.
eTag (paper tag) Fee = $5.00
Registration Hours: 8:00a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
United States Government issued picture identification or foreign passport.
Make sure you notify the Registration Personnel at the Vehicle Auction if your mailing and/or physical address is different than the address on your identification.
The person purchasing the vehicle(s) MUST be the one to register and remain present for the entire Vehicle Auction including completing the paperwork at the end. Vehicles can not be titled in the name of someone who was not registered and present at the actual Vehicle Auction.
Payment may be made with cash, check, debit or credit card (MasterCard, VISA, and Discover).
Payment of the non-refunable cash deposit (10% of winning bid amount or $200, whichever is greater) must be paid immediately following the close of the bid on the specific vehicle. The auction will not continue until this is done.
Final payment and title paperwork may be completed immediately following the payment of the deposit. The balance must be paid and title work completed by 3:00 p.m. on the next Monday following the auction or the deposit will be forfeited and the bidder will be banned from future auctions. The offices are open Monday from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. to make payment after the close of the auction.
All titles must be registered in the full legal name as it appears on the Buyer's United States Government issued picture identification or foreign passport (no exceptions).
It is preferred that the bidder take their vehicle(s) with them after payment and at the close of auction. All vehicles must be removed from The Salvation Army Dallas ARC property by the next Wednesday after the auction or a storage fee of $25.00 per day per vehicle will be charged to the bidder at the time of pick-up before the vehicle(s) is/are released. Pick up times are Monday - Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. All vehicles remaining on property the following Monday will be towed at the purchaser's expense.
Title Transfer & Registration:
After you have paid for the vehicle(s) you have won at our Vehicle Auction, you will complete paperwork which will include all necessary forms for the transfer of the title and registration of the vehicle(s) into your name (where applicable). Payment for these services will be incldued in your final purchase price.
Our Vehicle Donations Department staff will process this paperwork with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. The title for the vehicle(s) in your name will be mailed to the address you have provided for us at registration directly from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. This process can take from 6-8 weeks.
When a vehicle may be registered at time of titling, the registration sticker and hard plates will be available for pick up from our Auto Sales Department. A member of this department will call the purchaser when they are available for pick up. This process can take from 6-8 weeks.
A Bidder may be banned for several reasons. Here are just a few:
(1) Registering with one name and then wanting to title the vehicle in someone else's name.
(2) Bidding on and winning a vehicle and then not fulfilling the payment and titling requirements. Example: Walking out after winning a vehicle without paying.
